Code of Ethics Resources

The National Association of REALTORS® requires ALL REALTOR® members to complete an approved Code of Ethics class once every two-year cycle.  This requirement applies to all Brokers, Affiliate Brokers and Appraisers. The current Code of Ethic biennial cycle began on January 1, 2017 and ends on December 31, 2018.

This is not the same as the TREC Core course, and is separate from TREC’s license renewal requirements.  Therefore, even members who are “grandfathered” and exempt from taking continuing education by TREC must take this class.  Only members granted REALTOR® Emeritus status by NAR prior to December 31, 2018 are exempt from this requirement.

IMPORTANT:  As one of two new member requirements, New Applicants to Greater Nashville REALTORS® must complete a Code of Ethics class within 90 days of submitting an application.  The Code of Ethics class taken as part of the new member requirements will also meet NAR’s mandate for the cycle in which the class is taken.  If you are a New Applicant and are required to complete a Code of Ethics class as part of your new member requirements, please see options below under Ways to Meet the Requirements-New Applicants Only. New Applicants are also required to complete the Greater Nashville REALTORS® Orientation class. More information on the new member requirements is here.
